EV Charging
Domestic, commercial and industrial EV charger installation across the UK.
Reliable EV Charging Infrastructure, Designed and Installed by Qualified Engineers
Electrical Testing UK supplies and installs EV charging points for homeowners, businesses, fleet operators and public sector organisations. Whether you need a single home charger or large-scale commercial charging infrastructure across multiple sites, our qualified engineers manage the full project, from initial survey and electrical assessment through to installation, testing, certification and handover. Every installation is completed to BS 7671, fully certified and grant-eligible where applicable.
Key Features Include

Domestic and Commercial Installation
We install EV chargers across all property types, homes, workplaces, car parks, fleet depots and public sector estates, with each installation designed around the specific supply, usage and expansion requirements of the site.

Full Electrical Assessment
Before any charger is specified, we assess your existing supply capacity, consumer unit or distribution board headroom and earthing arrangement to confirm what your installation can support and identify any upgrades required.

Grant-Eligible Installations
We are an authorised installer under both the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme for eligible domestic customers and the Workplace Charging Scheme for businesses and public sector organisations, and we assist with the application process as part of every project.

Smart Load Management
For commercial and multi-charger installations we configure load management systems that distribute available electrical capacity dynamically, preventing demand spikes and protecting your supply from overload.

Certified and Compliant
Every installation is completed to BS 7671, fully tested and certified with an Electrical Installation Certificate. Building regulations self-certification is provided where required.
Our EV charging installation service
Home EV Charger Installation for Domestic Properties We supply and install smart home EV chargers connected to a dedicated circuit from your consumer unit, installed to BS 7671 and completed in a single day in most cases. Where your consumer unit or incoming supply needs upgrading to safely accommodate the charger, we carry out that work as part of the project. We handle the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme grant application for eligible customers and ensure all chargers meet the smart charging requirements set out in the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021.
Workplace EV Charging Installation for Businesses and Commercial Premises We install 7kW AC Type 2 and 22kW AC chargers for offices, business parks, retail premises and commercial sites, with full circuit design, cable containment, distribution board connections, earthing, RCD protection and load management configuration included. Workplace charging is increasingly a staff expectation and a sustainability reporting requirement. We assist eligible businesses with the Workplace Charging Scheme grant application, which currently provides up to £350 per socket for up to 40 sockets.
Fleet Depot and Industrial EV Charging Infrastructure Fleet depot charging installations require a higher level of electrical infrastructure planning than typical workplace installations. We design fleet charging systems around shift patterns and vehicle dwell times, with load management that prioritises vehicles with the lowest state of charge and ensures all vehicles are ready for the next shift without overloading the site supply. Where the additional load requires DNO notification under G99 or G100, we manage the application and liaise with your Distribution Network Operator on your behalf.
Public Sector and Local Authority EV Charging We manage multi-site EV charging programmes for councils, NHS trusts, universities and housing associations, delivering consistent installation standards and consolidated documentation across single sites and large estates. Public charging installations are designed to meet the Public Charge Point Regulations 2023 requirements for open access, contactless payment and pricing transparency.
EV Charging for Retail, Hospitality and Public-Facing Venues Customer-facing EV charging increases dwell time and destination appeal. We install public-facing chargers with payment systems, network connectivity and remote management capabilities for retail parks, hotels, leisure facilities and supermarkets.
From Site Survey to Certified Handover
Assessing your site’s electrical supply and capacity Every EV charging project begins with a site survey. For domestic installations this covers the consumer unit, incoming supply, proposed cable route and earthing arrangement. For commercial projects we assess the full electrical supply, distribution board capacity, maximum demand data and existing load profiles. The survey produces a clear written assessment of what the site can currently support, what upgrades are needed, and the most cost-effective way to sequence the project.
Designing your EV charging system around your requirements We specify the right charger for your use case — a 7kW smart charger for most domestic properties, 7kW or 22kW AC Type 2 for commercial applications, DC rapid chargers where shorter dwell times require faster output. System design covers circuit sizing, cable routes, containment, distribution board connections, earthing, load management and any metering or sub-metering required for energy cost allocation.
Managing DNO applications and supply upgrades Where a larger EV charging installation requires an increase in the site’s maximum demand agreement, or where the connection triggers a G99 or G100 notification, we manage the DNO application process, prepare the required documentation and liaise with the network operator on your behalf. Organisations that proceed without obtaining required DNO approval risk installing a system that cannot operate at full capacity or requires expensive remediation.
Installing, testing and certifying your EV charging installation Installation is carried out by our own qualified engineers. All chargers are installed to the manufacturer’s specification with cabling correctly sized, earthing completed and verified, and RCD protection provided to BS 7671. On completion all circuits and chargers are tested, results documented and the installation certified with an Electrical Installation Certificate. Grant paperwork is submitted where applicable.
Why Homeowners and Organisations Choose Electrical Testing UK for EV Charging
Reliable EV Charging Infrastructure, Designed and Installed by Qualified Engineers
One contractor, full scope We handle every element of an EV charging project — survey, design, supply upgrades, installation, testing and certification. One point of contact and one point of responsibility throughout.
Authorised grant installer We are authorised under both the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme and the Workplace Charging Scheme, helping domestic and commercial customers access available grant funding as part of every eligible project.
Electrical infrastructure expertise Deploying EV charging at scale is an electrical infrastructure project, not a product installation. We assess supply capacity, manage DNO applications and specify load management correctly — avoiding the common and expensive mistakes that result from inadequate electrical planning.
NICEIC qualified, TrustMark registered We are NICEIC Approved Contractors and NICEIC Domestic Installers, TrustMark registered and SafeContractor approved. All our engineers are qualified to the current edition of BS 7671.
Multi-site programme delivery For councils, fleet operators, academy trusts and facilities management companies managing EV charging across multiple locations, we offer coordinated installation programmes with consistent specifications and a single point of contact for the full rollout.
