Professional Electrical Remedial Services Across the UK

Resolving Electrical Faults, Defects and Non-Compliances Quickly and Correctly

Electrical Testing UK carries out electrical remedial work for homeowners, landlords, businesses and public sector organisations. Whether faults have been identified during an EICR, a fire alarm service visit, a PAT testing programme or an emergency callout, remedial work needs to be carried out promptly by a qualified engineer who understands the original finding and knows how to resolve it correctly. As a full-service electrical contractor, we carry out all types of remedial work ourselves, from replacing a failed RCD to rewiring a circuit, upgrading earthing or resolving C1 observations that require immediate action. One contractor identifies the problem and fixes it.

Key Features Include

All Remedial Work Types

We carry out the full range of electrical remedial work identified during inspections and testing, from minor repairs and component replacements through to circuit rewires and distribution board upgrades.

Priority-Based Response

C1 observations and immediate danger findings are treated as urgent. We prioritise remedial attendance based on the severity of the finding, attending promptly where safety is at risk.

Contract

Inspection and Remedial Under One Contract

Where Electrical Testing UK carries out the inspection, we resolve the findings. No gap between identifying a problem and fixing it, and no need to find a separate contractor.

Full Documentation on Completion

All remedial work is documented on completion, with updated certification issued where required to confirm the installation has been brought into compliance.

Domestic and Commercial Coverage

We carry out remedial work across all property types, from domestic properties and HMOs through to commercial premises, industrial sites and public sector buildings.

Electrical Remedial Work for Every Type of Finding and Property

Remedial Work Following an EICR An EICR identifies observations coded C1, C2 and C3. C1 observations represent immediate danger and must be addressed before the installation is used. C2 observations are potentially dangerous and require remedial work within an agreed timescale. We carry out all categories of EICR remedial work, from replacing a non-compliant consumer unit to repairing damaged wiring, upgrading earthing and bonding, and resolving protection deficiencies identified during inspection.

Consumer Unit and Distribution Board Replacements Outdated consumer units without RCD protection and distribution boards with incorrectly rated or modified protective devices are among the most common EICR findings. We replace domestic consumer units and commercial distribution boards, installing correctly specified units with appropriate RCD and RCBO protection, and issuing an Electrical Installation Certificate on completion.

Earthing, Bonding and Circuit Remedial Work Missing bonding to gas and water services, inadequate earth electrode arrangements and damaged or incorrectly installed wiring are identified across all property types. We carry out earthing, bonding and circuit remedial work for domestic and commercial properties, installing correctly sized conductors and replacing defective cables to BS 7671.

Remedial Work for Landlords Following EICR Findings The Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 require landlords to carry out remedial work within 28 days of an EICR finding, or sooner where an immediate danger is identified. We carry out remedial work for landlords promptly, providing updated documentation confirming the installation is safe for continued occupation.

The Electrical Remedial Services Process From Finding to Certified Completion

Reviewing the inspection findings and scoping the work Where Electrical Testing UK carried out the original inspection, we already understand the findings and can quote for the remedial work directly. Where remedial work has been identified by another inspector, we review the EICR or inspection report before quoting, confirming our understanding of each finding and the most appropriate remedial solution before any work is committed.

Carrying out remedial work to BS 7671 All remedial work is carried out by our own qualified engineers to the current edition of BS 7671. We do not carry out temporary or partial fixes that leave the installation in a non-compliant state — every remedial item we address is resolved correctly and completely.

Certifying and documenting completed remedial work On completion of remedial work we issue the appropriate certification — an Electrical Installation Certificate for new circuits or significant alterations, a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate for smaller remedial items, or an updated EICR where the remedial work brings the installation to a satisfactory overall condition. For landlords, we provide the written confirmation required under the Electrical Safety Standards Regulations that the identified works have been completed.

Why Homeowners, Landlords and Businesses Choose Electrical Testing UK for Remedial Work

We identify and resolve findings under one contract Where Electrical Testing UK carries out inspections and testing, we resolve the findings ourselves. No delay, no handover between contractors, no risk of the remedial work being carried out by someone who did not understand the original finding.

Priority response for immediate danger findings C1 observations and findings that represent an immediate safety risk are treated urgently. We attend promptly to resolve immediate danger findings and make the installation safe without unnecessary delay.

All remedial work types covered From replacing a single RCD to rewiring a property or upgrading a distribution board, we carry out the full range of electrical remedial work. You do not need to find specialist contractors for different types of remedial item.

Correct certification on completion Every remedial job is correctly certified on completion, providing the documentation your insurer, your local authority or your tenant requires to confirm the installation has been brought into compliance.

Qualified engineers, not subcontractors All remedial work is carried out by our own NICEIC-qualified engineers. We do not subcontract, so quality and accountability remain with Electrical Testing UK throughout.
